We're seeking skilled Excavator and Dozer Equipment Operators to support the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities throughout New York State. In this traveling role, you'll operate heavy equipment on complex civil and utility projects where safety, precision, and productivity are essential.

What You'll Do
Operate excavators, dozers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform utility trenching for water, sewer, storm drainage, conduit, and process piping installations.
Excavate around tanks, vaults, lift stations, concrete structures, and treatment equipment.
Complete site preparation, grading, excavation, backfilling, and compaction activities.
Perform fine grading using GPS systems, lasers, and grade stakes.
Safely work around existing underground and overhead utilities.
Read and interpret construction drawings, utility plans, and project specifications.
Load trucks, manage stockpiles, and maintain organized job sites.
Install and work around trench boxes and shoring systems.
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
Support field crews and coordinate with supervisors, surveyors, and utility teams.
Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and all site safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years' experience operating excavators and/or dozers.
Experience in heavy civil, utility, water, wastewater, industrial, or infrastructure construction.
Utility trenching and excavation experience.
Ability to perform fine grading and finish grading.
Knowledge of trenching, excavation, and jobsite safety practices.
Ability to read construction plans and grading drawings.
Valid driver's license.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout New York State.
Preferred Qualifications
Water or wastewater treatment plant construction experience.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Competent Person Trenching & Excavation certification.
Experience with GPS machine control technology.
CDL license.
Experience operating multiple equipment types, including:
Excavators
Dozers
Loaders
Rollers
Skid steers
Telehandlers
Work Environment
This is a traveling, field-based position supporting municipal, industrial, and heavy civil construction projects throughout New York State.
Typical Schedule:
Monday-Friday
7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Hours may vary based on project requirements
Work is performed outdoors on active construction sites and requires coordination with project teams while maintaining strict safety standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr.
