Shop Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to join our team building and customizing vocational and specialty trucks. In this role, you will transform factory-delivered trucks into fully customized vehicles designed to meet specific customer requirements. You will work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fabrication projects, installing equipment such as plows, cranes, reach lifts, dump bodies, lighting systems, truck extensions, and other specialized components.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working on heavy equipment, truck upfitting, and custom installations.
Pay: $26-$32/hr
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:40 PM (OT Available on Fridays)
Location: Denver, CO
Responsibilities:
Rebuild, modify, and upfit factory trucks to customer specifications.
Perform mechanical assembly, adjustments, and repairs.
Route and connect hydraulic, transmission, fluid, and pneumatic lines.
Install and troubleshoot 12V electrical systems, wiring harnesses, lights, and accessories.
Perform MIG welding, fabrication, and structural modifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Fabricate brackets, mounts, and support structures as needed.
Conduct inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are met.
Document completed work and communicate findings with team members and supervisors.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Skills:
At least 1 year of hands-on mechanical experience with automotive, truck, or heavy equipment systems preferred.
Experience with hydraulic systems and hydraulic line installation.
Familiarity with 12V electrical systems, wiring, and lighting installations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with truck upfitting or heavy equipment installation.
MIG welding and fabrication experience.
Background in automotive repair, diesel repair, or heavy equipment maintenance.
Knowledge of crane, lift, or dump body systems.
Experience working with pneumatic systems.
This position is based in a busy, well-equipped shop working alongside a team of experienced technicians and mechanics. The role is highly physical and involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, fabrication equipment, and diagnostic tools. Typical work weeks range from 40-45 hours, with overtime opportunities available based on workload and production demands.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
