Job Title: Cable Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on installing, pulling, and terminating low-voltage cabling to support an expansion project and a new building. You will work on an active construction site, using hand and power tools to install, route, and complete cable systems according to plans and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Pull low-voltage cables for an expansion and new building project in an active construction environment.
Set up, route, and install cables in cable trays and other pathways according to project specifications and blueprints.
Terminate and cap cables, including Cat5 and Cat6, ensuring clean, accurate, and reliable connections.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cable installation and support tasks.
Assist with the installation and support of fire alarm and other low-voltage systems as required.
Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints to determine cable routes and installation requirements.
Troubleshoot basic cabling issues and mechanical problems related to low-voltage wiring and cable runs.
Follow all site safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Collaborate with other construction and low-voltage team members to complete tasks on schedule.
Essential Skills
At least 2+ years of experience as a cable technician, cable puller, or in a similar low-voltage wiring role.
Proven ability to pull and install low-voltage cables in a construction or similar environment.
Working knowledge of low-voltage wiring principles and practices.
Familiarity with Cat5 and Cat6 cabling, including installation and basic performance considerations.
Ability to terminate and cap cables accurately and neatly.
Basic proficiency with hand tools and power tools used for cabling and construction tasks.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction drawings.
Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills related to cabling and low-voltage systems.
Strong focus on safety and adherence to safety procedures on active construction sites.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with fire alarm cabling or other specialized low-voltage systems.
Previous experience installing cable trays and structured cabling infrastructure.
Construction site experience, including familiarity with site workflows and coordination with other trades.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality workmanship under time constraints.
Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
