Data Center/Cable Technician
Experience Required: 6 months - 2 years as a Data Center Technician or Cable Technician
Location: Multiple openings
Schedule: Must be flexible - overtime and 10-12 hour shifts may be required
Travel: Some roles may require travel depending on project needs
Overview
Our client has multiple openings for entry‑level to junior Data Center Cable Technicians. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with 6 months to 2 years of hands‑on data center or cabling experience who want to grow their career in large‑scale infrastructure environments.
Technicians will support senior techs and team leads in building out the structured cabling infrastructure inside hyperscale data centers. This includes learning cabling at scale, supporting installations, and assisting with critical build‑out activities.
Most technicians will begin with installing cable trays and building server racks, then progress into fiber/copper terminations and advanced cabling tasks.
Responsibilities
Pull and route copper and fiber cabling throughout the data center
Drop cable down walls using fish tape or similar tools
Perform pre‑termination tasks: dressing, organizing, labeling, and preparing cables
Install and support cable pathways: cable trays, J‑hooks, D‑rings, trapeze systems
Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling
Perform fire‑stopping procedures and install sleeves for cable penetrations
Terminate low‑voltage devices under supervision
Follow construction prints and installation standards
Complete all required documentation accurately (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, etc.)
Adhere to all safety, quality, and compliance standards
Support expereinced technicians and team leads with daily tasks and project goals
Other duties as assigned
Required Experience
6 months to 2 years of experience as a Data Center Technician or Cable Technician
Hands‑on experience with any of the following:
Cable pulling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber)
Rack‑and‑stack
Basic terminations
Low‑voltage installation
Inside plant (ISP) or outside plant (OSP) cabling
Ability to read or learn to read basic prints and cable routing diagrams
Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in physically demanding environments
Skills & Attributes
Strong work ethic and reliability
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Team‑oriented with good communication skills
Willingness to learn structured cabling at scale
Flexible schedule - ability to work 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week when needed

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
