Description

We are looking for a Cable Technician to support structured cabling work for an office environment. This is a Contract position focused on installing and organizing CAT6 infrastructure to help create reliable network connectivity throughout the site. The ideal candidate is comfortable working hands-on with low-voltage systems, following site standards, and delivering clean, detail-oriented cable installations.

Responsibilities:

• Install CAT6 cabling throughout the office space in accordance with project layouts and low-voltage standards.

• Route, secure, and dress cable runs to maintain a neat, safe, and efficient installation environment.

• Terminate network cables and verify connections to support dependable voice and data performance.

• Label cables and related components clearly to improve identification, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Test completed cable runs and address any issues to ensure proper functionality before handoff.

• Coordinate on-site tasks with team members and other trades to keep installation work on schedule.

• Follow workplace safety practices and site requirements while handling tools, materials, and equipment.

• Install and test Access Controls.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with network cabling and commercial cable installation projects.

• Working knowledge of CAT6 cabling methods, termination practices, and cable testing procedures.

• Familiarity with low-voltage cabling standards and job site safety expectations.

• Ability to read basic layouts or follow cable pathways within an office setting.

• Experience organizing, labeling, and documenting cable installations accurately.

• Comfortable using common cabling tools and working in active office environments.

• Experience with Access Controls.
