Position Overview
We are seeking a Fiber Technician II with experience in fiber optics, structured cabling, and OSP (Outside Plant) telecommunications infrastructure. This role will support the installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic and copper cabling systems while assisting with project execution and mentoring junior technicians.
Responsibilities
Install, terminate, splice, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
Perform OTDR testing, fiber certification, troubleshooting, and fault isolation.
Install and terminate CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A structured cabling systems.
Build and organize MDF/IDF rooms, including racks, patch panels, cable tray, and network hardware.
Support aerial and underground OSP fiber construction projects.
Read and interpret blueprints, splice diagrams, and construction drawings.
Complete project documentation and maintain quality and safety standards.
Lead small crews and assist with coordinating daily field activities.

Skills and Requirements
2+ years of experience in fiber optics, telecommunications, structured cabling, or low-voltage installations.
Experience with fiber termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of OTDRs, power meters, fiber testing equipment, and cable certification tools.
Ability to read blueprints and telecommunications drawings.
Experience in commercial, industrial, telecommunications, or data center environments preferred.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed. Fusion Splicing
