Job Description
We are seeking a Lead Fiber Technician to support the installation and deployment of outside plant (OSP) fiber infrastructure for a large-scale data center expansion project. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced fiber technicians who enjoy working in the field, leading by example, and contributing to critical infrastructure projects with strong earning potential and long-term growth opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have experience with OSP fiber installations, underground or aerial fiber construction, and leading cable crews in outdoor environments. We're looking for someone who is organized, safety-focused, and capable of helping drive project success.
What You'll Do
Lead and support OSP fiber installation activities
Oversee the installation of conduit, innerduct, handholes, vaults, and fiber infrastructure
Pull, route, and test high-count fiber optic cable
Support underground and aerial fiber installation projects
Coordinate with construction teams and project stakeholders during installation activities
Perform quality inspections and address installation deficiencies
Maintain accurate project documentation and test results
Participate in project walk-throughs, closeouts, and turnover meetings
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, operations teams, and customers
Support moves, adds, and changes (MACs) within active environments
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and industry standards
What You Bring
Experience with OSP fiber optic installations
Experience with underground and/or aerial fiber construction
Experience working on cable crews pulling high-count fiber
Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and elevated cable pathways
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Nice to Have
Fiber termination experience
Experience with patch panels and punch-downs
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
Data center project experience
Fiber testing and troubleshooting experience
Previous leadership or crew lead experience

This is a Contract position based out of Bridgeport, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
