Job Title: Cable Technician
Job Description
The Cable Technician will support an expansion and new building project by installing, pulling, and terminating low-voltage cabling. This role involves working on an active construction site, using hand and power tools to complete cable installation, termination, and related tasks safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Pull low-voltage cables throughout an expansion and new building project.
Set up, route, and install cabling in accordance with project specifications and construction plans.
Use knowledge of Cat5 and Cat6 cabling to assist with installation and troubleshooting.
Terminate and cap cables accurately and securely to ensure proper connectivity.
Interpret and work from blueprints and construction documents to plan cable runs and installation paths.
Use basic hand and power tools to complete cable pulling, installation, and termination tasks.
Install and organize cabling in cable trays and other support systems.
Assist with fire alarm and other low-voltage system cabling as needed.
Perform basic troubleshooting on cabling and low-voltage systems to identify and resolve issues.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on an active construction site.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and care for tools and equipment properly.
Collaborate with other construction and technical team members to complete tasks on schedule.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a cable puller or in a similar low-voltage cabling role.
Strong knowledge of low-voltage wiring and cabling practices.
Ability to pull and install low-voltage cables in a construction environment.
Familiarity with Cat5 and Cat6 cabling and their applications.
Basic proficiency with hand tools and power tools used for cabling and installation work.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
Experience with cable installation, cable trays, and cable termination.
Capability to perform basic troubleshooting on low-voltage cabling systems.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and construction materials.
Strong safety awareness and commitment to following site safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working on active construction sites.
Exposure to fire alarm cabling and other low-voltage building systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project timelines.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail in cable routing and termination.
Willingness to adapt to changing site conditions and project needs.

Work Environment
This position is based on an active construction site, where you will work around other trades and ongoing building activities. The work involves physical tasks such as pulling cables, using hand and power tools, and working in and around cable trays and building infrastructure. Safety is a top priority, and hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves are provided. Contractors are required to supply their own safety boots and safety vest. The environment may include varying temperatures, noise, and typical construction site conditions, and you should be prepared to follow all site safety rules and procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
