Job Description

The Terminate & Test Technician is responsible for terminating, testing, certifying, and documenting fiber optic and copper network infrastructure in commercial, industrial, and data center environments. This role supports project closeout activities by ensuring all cabling systems are properly installed, labeled, certified, and documented to customer and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Install and dress MTP/MPO fiber panels in IDFs, MDFs, and MMRs.
• Clean, inspect, and verify fiber optic connectors prior to testing and commissioning.
• Perform Tier 1 OLTS insertion-loss testing and certification of OS2 fiber optic trunks.
• Terminate shielded Cat6A cabling using T568B standards for cameras, WAPs, IoT devices, and network drops.
• Conduct wiremap and full certification testing using Level III/IV cable testers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fiber and copper connectivity issues.
• Label, document, and maintain accurate records of all cable terminations and test results. Generate certification reports and closeout documentation for project turnover.

Skills and Requirements

• Cat6A termination experience, including shielded RJ45 terminations (T568B).
• Experience with MTP/MPO fiber connectors and panels Experience performing Tier 1 OLTS insertion-loss testing on fiber
• BICSI certification highly preferred.
• Experience with fluke test sets
• Experience with Siemons connectors or Zmax connectors Fiber optic termination, cleaning, and testing experience (MTP/MPO and OS2 fiber).
