Cable Technician - QTS Data Center, $25/HOUR!

Position Overview
Looking to start a career in the growing data center industry? We are hiring Cable Technicians to support the buildout of a large-scale data center in Cedar Rapids, IA. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals with construction, mechanical, assembly, or hands-on labor experience who want to develop specialized technical skills.
In this role, you will work with a team to install server racks, pull and dress fiber optic cable, mount hardware, and support the infrastructure that powers modern data centers. Training is provided, making this a great opportunity to gain experience in a high-demand field with strong growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and install server racks, trays, and related equipment.
Pull, route, and secure fiber optic cable throughout the facility.
Dress and organize cable to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
Read and follow blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
Use hand and power tools to complete installations.
Scan and track inventory and materials.
Unpack, stage, and organize equipment and supplies.
Install servers, switches, and other network infrastructure components.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all job site and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Previous construction, assembly, mechanical, or general labor experience preferred.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to read and follow blueprints or technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Ability to work effectively on a team.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Preferred Experience
Structured cabling experience.
Fiber optic installation experience.
Electrical, low-voltage, telecommunications, or other trade experience.
Experience working in construction environments.
Familiarity with reading project documents and blueprints.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Schedule
Monday - Friday
7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Five 10-hour shifts each week
Occasional Saturday work available based on project needs
Consistent hours with overtime opportunities
Work Environment
This position is performed on-site at an active data center construction project in Cedar Rapids, IA. Team members work in a fast-paced environment while following strict safety standards. Required PPE includes steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
