Project Overview
Workers will assist with the construction of a new landfill cell, performing earthmoving, grading, excavation, and site preparation activities. This is a physically demanding outdoor position requiring a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and productivity. Employees will work in varying weather conditions and around heavy equipment and construction vehicles.
Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities
Operate a variety of heavy equipment including:
Dozers
Loaders
Motor Graders
Backhoes
Scrapers
Articulated Haul Trucks
Water Trucks
Perform grading, excavation, earthmoving, and site preparation activities.
Read and follow supervisor instructions, site plans, and project requirements.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete pre-operation safety checks.
Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping on equipment.
Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or project hazards immediately.
Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Assist with additional site duties as needed.
General Laborer Responsibilities
Assist with landfill cell construction and site preparation activities.
Perform shoveling, raking, grading assistance, and general cleanup duties.
Install and maintain erosion control measures, fencing, and site materials.
Support equipment operators with ground-level tasks.
Load, unload, and move materials around the project site.
Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Perform other construction-related duties as assigned by supervision.
Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
Previous construction, earthwork, landfill, or heavy equipment experience preferred but not required for laborer positions.
Previous heavy equipment operating experience required for operator positions.
Physical Requirements
Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk on uneven terrain.
Ability to work around moving equipment and active construction operations.
Must be able to pass all client-required screenings and safety requirements.
This is an excellent short-term opportunity for individuals with construction and earthwork experience seeking prevailing wage work on a local project.
Pay Details: $21.80 to $32.75 per hour
