Communications Technician IKickstart Your Career in Telecommunications and Structured Cabling

The Communications Technician I is an entry level role ideal for individuals looking to build a career in telecommunications, low voltage systems, and structured cabling. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience installing and supporting the infrastructure that keeps businesses connected.

Working alongside experienced technicians, you will help install, route, support, label, and terminate low-voltage cabling systems in commercial environments while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, support, label, and terminate low-voltage cable systems.

• Build and organize telecommunications closets.

• Install racks, patch panels, and related infrastructure.

• Perform fire stopping in accordance with project requirements.

• Support structured cabling and telecommunications infrastructure projects.

• Follow all job site safety standards and company procedures.

• Accurately complete project documentation, labeling, and required paperwork.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• 1+ year of experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, or a related technical field.

• Ability to work safely in commercial construction environments.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
