Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy commercial and industrial construction, with a strong expertise in operating various types of equipment such as track hoes, backhoes, dozers, excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, and loaders. Civil experience in trenching, ditch work, cable installation, road work, water and sewer work, and electrical-related excavation is essential.
Responsibilities
Operate track hoes, backhoes, dozers, excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, and loaders efficiently and safely.
Perform civil construction tasks including trenching, ditch work, cable installation, road work, water and sewer work, and electrical-related excavation.
Ensure site cleanup and preparation are conducted effectively.
Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good working order and perform regular checks.
Adhere to safety protocols and standards at all times.
Essential Skills
Experience in heavy equipment operation including excavators, skid steers, and loaders.
Certifications such as OSHA 10, Lift, Silica Awareness, Scaffold, Heat & Cold Stress, Ladder & Stairway Safety, Fire Watch, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Equipment Spotter, Confined Space, and Telehandler/Forklift certification.
Knowledge of PPE and safety procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
HEO certification.
Experience with telehandler, mini excavator, roller, and bulldozer operations.

Work Environment
The job site is located at a substation in Ashburn. The team is based out of KY, with several projects in the pipeline locally in VA. The work environment includes a focus on safety and adherence to protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashburn, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
