HVAC Mechanic

Pay Rate: $94.96 per hour

What You'll Do
As an HVAC Mechanic, you'll perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment across a large-scale aerospace facility.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Perform repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on:
Air Handling Units (AHUs)
Chillers
Cooling Towers
VAV Systems
Heaters
Boilers
Air Compressors
Air Dryers
Coolers and Freezers
Conduct routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance inspections to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using hand and power tools, testing equipment, and technical documentation.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, sketches, layouts, and equipment specifications.
Install, modify, rebuild, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in compliance with applicable safety regulations and building codes.
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems, including pneumatic controls and direct digital control (DDC) systems.
Complete maintenance documentation, preventive maintenance records, and service reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
Respond to on-call maintenance needs and urgent repair situations as required.
Work safely in elevated locations, from ladders and lifts, and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting more than 50 pounds.
Collaborate with operations, facilities, and maintenance teams to support uninterrupted facility performance.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of four years of experience working with HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
Universal EPA Section 608 Certification.
Active California Driver's License.
Ownership of basic HVAC tools.
Experience in one or more maintenance trades, including:
Machine and equipment repair
Machine controls
Electrical maintenance
Familiarity with electrical and electronic components related to air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Experience working within a Central Plant environment.
Ability to work a 9/80 schedule.
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and work independently when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience.
Experience working within the aerospace, aviation, or defense industries.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Knowledge of building automation control systems and troubleshooting I/O devices.
Experience using maintenance management platforms such as Maximo, CAFM systems, or work-order tracking systems.
Experience supporting HVAC equipment in manufacturing environments serving production machinery.
Strong computer, analytical, mathematical, and planning skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and related business applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Details: $94.96 per hour
