About the Opportunity
IES Communications is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join a long-term data center construction project in Temple, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates looking to build a career in structured cabling, telecommunications, data centers, and low-voltage infrastructure.
The project is expected to last at least one year, with the opportunity to convert to a permanent employee after six months based on performance and business needs.

Monday-Friday
Current Hours: 6:45 AM - 3:45 PM
Potential transition to 10-hour shifts as project demands increase
Overtime opportunities may be available
Paid Training Opportunity
Candidates selected from the Temple area may be required to attend training at an active IES project site in Ohio or Iowa prior to the Temple project launch.

Job Responsibilities
As a Cable Technician I, you will assist in the construction and installation of critical data center infrastructure.
Daily Responsibilities
Pull Cat6 and fiber optic cables
Assist Cable Technician II personnel with installations
Run, stage, and handle materials throughout the job site
Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
Work on ladders and at elevated heights
Install cable tray, wireway, buss duct, switches, receptacles, and related infrastructure
Build telecommunications closets and equipment rooms
Mount and install:
Backboards
Equipment racks
Patch panels
Cross-connects
Fiber optic hardware
Install grounding systems for racks, equipment, and cabling
Perform IDC connections including:
110 blocks
66 blocks
Patch panel terminations
Assist with conduit installation and wire pulling
Operate tools such as:
Cable cutters
Hammer drills
Compression tools
Jackhammers
Other installation equipment
Required Qualifications
Valid Driver's License
Reliable transportation
Ability to lift 40 pounds or more
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors
Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Ability to work in a physically demanding construction environment
Must possess and be proficient with required hand tools

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
