Job Title: Mech & Robotics Technician Job Description
As a Mech & Robotics Technician, you will utilize your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. This role offers the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. Additionally, you will have the chance to mentor junior technicians, helping them grow in their roles.
Responsibilities
Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
Maintain a positive working relationship across all the Amazon Operations facility.
Track and store department inventory.
Move up to 49 pounds and stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Possible travel up to 20% at a minimum.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
1 year of experience in PC competency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
2 years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.
2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
1 year of metal and wood fabrication.
1 year of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
1 year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
Project Management experience.
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.
Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.

Work Environment
The work environment consists of compressed shifts in a warehouse that is clean and well-organized. Shifts will be either front half (Sunday-Wednesday) with a start time of 6 am or 7 am and lasting 10-12 hours, or back half (Wednesday-Saturday) with a start time of 6 pm or 7 pm and lasting 10-12 hours. Physical demands include repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking. Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 49 pounds. Conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures inside/outside, noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr.
