The Maintenance Manager position plays a pivotal role in achieving zero downtime and fostering a culture of excellence, leading a dedicated crew, optimizing operations, and driving reliability in a fast-paced environment committed to quality and safety.
Responsibilities :
Lead and mentor a team of 5-10 technicians, overseeing daily operations, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to build a high-performing unit.
Develop and implement robust preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and minimize disruptions.
Manage the maintenance budget effectively, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency gains.
Create and enforce standardized procedures, including SOPs, lockout/tagout protocols, and spare parts inventory management.
Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures, spearhead corrective actions, and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and cross-functional teams on capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvements.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards, while promoting a proactive safety-first mindset.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, reduce waste, and support overall plant goals.
Basic Hiring Criteria :
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in manufacturing, food/beverage, or heavy industry.
Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role, with proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
Desired Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
Expertise with PLCs, CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP), and reliability methodologies like FMEA and TPM.
Demonstrated success in reducing unplanned downtime and controlling maintenance costs through data-driven strategies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort in using metrics to inform decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate and influence across departments.
Professional certifications such as CMRP, CRL, or Six Sigma Green Belt.
Experience with automated systems, including robotics, conveyors, and HVAC.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
