More Than a Cable Technician Job. A Chance to Build a Technology Career.Cable TechnicianStructured Cabling | Networking | CCTV | Access Control | Long-Term Growth
Most cable technician jobs look the same.
Pull cable. Terminate cable. Move on to the next project.
This opportunity is different.
We're looking for a Cable Technician who wants to do more than just run CAT5 and CAT6 every day. You'll still use your structured cabling skills, but you'll also gain exposure to networking, IP cameras, access control systems, troubleshooting, and technology infrastructure that keeps entire facilities connected and secure.
If you're someone who's been looking for a way to expand your skillset and make yourself more valuable in the low-voltage and IT world, this is the type of opportunity that can help get you there.
What Makes This Role Different?
Instead of working on a single construction project or repetitive cable installation job, you'll support a wide variety of technology systems and infrastructure.
One day you may be:
Testing and troubleshooting network drops
Tracking down connectivity issues
Supporting camera system upgrades
Assisting with access control installations
Working inside network closets
Tracing cable runs and documenting infrastructure
The next day you could be learning new technologies from experienced technicians while helping improve the systems that hundreds of people rely on every day.
This role provides exposure to multiple areas of technology, making it an excellent next step for cable technicians who want to continue growing their careers.
What You'll Be Doing
Pulling, patching, terminating, and testing CAT5/CAT6 cabling
Troubleshooting structured cabling and connectivity issues
Working with faceplate assignments, cable drawings, and network closet layouts
Using cable testers, toners, and diagnostic tools
Supporting IP camera installations and maintenance
Assisting with access control systems
Performing preventative maintenance on technology infrastructure
Supporting network-connected devices and equipment
Documenting work and maintaining installation standards
✅ What We're Looking For
Experience pulling, terminating, patching, and testing CAT5/CAT6 cable
Ability to troubleshoot cabling issues from end to end
Experience working in network closets
Comfortable using computers and basic networking tools
Strong attention to detail
Reliable and self-motivated
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
⭐ Bonus Points For Experience With
CCTV / IP Camera Systems
Access Control Systems
Network Switches
Command Prompt
Device Troubleshooting
IoT Devices
Low Voltage Systems
If you have strong cabling experience but haven't worked with cameras or access control systems yet, training is available.
Where This Can Lead
Many technicians reach a point where they want to move beyond basic cabling but aren't sure how to get the experience.
This role helps bridge that gap by providing exposure to:
Structured Cabling
Layer 1 Network Infrastructure
IP-Based Devices
CCTV Systems
Access Control Technologies
Basic Networking Concepts
Troubleshooting Methodologies
Ideal Candidate
You enjoy solving problems.
You like working with technology.
You don't mind being hands-on.
You want more responsibility, more knowledge, and more opportunity than a typical cable installation role can offer.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to speak with you.
Apply today and take the next step from cable technician to technology professional.
