Fiber Technician
Location: Sandston, VA
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Fiber Technician to join a growing team supporting fiber optic installations and infrastructure projects in the Sandston area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on construction, cabling, telecommunications, or fiber experience who is looking to build a long-term career in the industry.
You do not need to be an expert in fiber splicing or have years of fiber experience. We're looking for candidates who have worked with fiber in some capacity and are eager to learn, grow, and develop their technical skills.
Responsibilities
Assist with fiber optic cable installation and routing.
Pull, route, secure, and dress fiber and low-voltage cabling.
Support fiber testing, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance activities.
Read and follow project drawings, work instructions, and installation standards.
Work alongside experienced technicians on new construction and infrastructure projects.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Use hand and power tools to complete installations.
Support project teams in meeting quality and production goals.
Qualifications
Previous experience working with fiber optic cable, telecommunications, structured cabling, low voltage, construction, or a related field.
Comfortable working with hand and power tools.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
Ability to follow directions and learn new technical skills.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Fiber optic installations
Structured cabling
Telecommunications infrastructure
Construction or trade experience
Copper cabling (Cat5/Cat6)
Reading basic construction drawings
Ladder work and jobsite experience

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
