What You'll Do
As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure to ensure reliable service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic and coaxial cable systems
Perform fiber optic and coaxial cable splicing in aerial and underground environments
Support new installations, upgrades, relocations, and repair projects
Identify and replace damaged, defective, or outdated cable infrastructure
Diagnose network connectivity and service issues
Test and verify system performance to ensure quality standards are met
Monitor and document signal levels for internet, television, and telephone services
Perform live splicing and maintenance activities with minimal service interruption
Complete aerial and underground cable work, including span replacements and network expansions
Read and interpret network documentation, system maps, and design drawings
Maintain accurate records of work performed and network updates
Assess worksites to identify safety concerns and installation risks
Communicate professionally with customers regarding services and equipment setup
Follow all company and safety procedures while maintaining high-quality workmanship
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of experience in telecommunications, cable installation, fiber optics, low-voltage systems, or related technical work preferred
Basic understanding of fiber optic and coaxial cable systems
Familiarity with hand tools, testing equipment, and installation practices
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as needed
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license may be required

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
