The Maintenance Engineer ensures that production machinery and facility systems operate reliably and efficiently, minimizing downtime and disruptions. This role leads preventive and predictive maintenance using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), troubleshoots complex mechanical and electrical issues, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and production flow. The Maintenance Engineer collaborates closely with operations and engineering teams while maintaining accurate maintenance records and upholding strict safety standards.
Responsibilities
Ensure machinery and facility systems operate efficiently to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
Perform and lead preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) activities using CMMS systems to extend asset life and improve reliability.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and automation systems to restore equipment to optimal performance.
Leverage knowledge of automation equipment, including panel blenders and Salvagnini equipment, to maintain consistent production and minimize equipment downtime.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facility systems, identify potential issues, and take corrective action before failures occur.
Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, repair histories, logs, and schedules within the CMMS.
Collaborate with production teams, contractors, and other maintenance personnel to coordinate maintenance activities on new and existing production lines.
Support equipment installations, facility upgrades, and changes to production areas to ensure smooth integration and startup.
Manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are available and to reduce equipment downtime.
Assist with estimating labor, materials, and project timelines for maintenance and facility projects.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures, including OSHA requirements and programs such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, Confined Space, and HAZMAT.
Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability, uptime, and overall operational efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering and operations to optimize equipment performance and production flow.
Uphold a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous learning within the maintenance function.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or related engineering roles.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
Hands-on experience with automation equipment, including panel blenders and Salvagnini equipment.
Proficiency in performing preventive and predictive maintenance using a CMMS platform.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and waste handling processes.
Understanding and application of safety programs and regulations such as OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, Confined Space, and HAZMAT.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with production teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Strong time management and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
High attention to detail and a methodical approach to maintenance tasks and documentation.
Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.

This role operates within a climate-controlled manufacturing facility that uses advanced automation and production equipment, including systems such as panel blenders and Salvagnini machinery. The Maintenance Engineer works on and around mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems, using CMMS tools and standard maintenance equipment daily. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
