Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a Foreman Heavy Equipment Operator to oversee jobsites throughout Hartford County. This lead position may occasionally require hands-on involvement. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with heavy machinery and experience in leading teams.
Responsibilities
Operate a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, and compactors to support construction activities.
Perform precision excavation for underground utilities such as water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
Execute grading and site preparation for building pads, roadways, and structural foundations.
Load, transport, and distribute materials such as stone, soil, and debris safely and efficiently across job sites.
Interpret construction plans, grade stakes, and site layouts to ensure accurate project execution.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance to promote safe and reliable operation.
Adhere to all OSHA standards and company safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free job sites to support efficient operations.
Essential Skills
Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, and compactors.
Ability to perform precision excavation for utilities including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
Experience in grading and site preparation for structural foundations and roadways.
Skill in loading, transporting, and distributing construction materials safely.
Proficiency in interpreting construction plans and site layouts.
Knowledge of OSHA standards and ability to adhere to safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in general labor tasks including pipe installation and site cleanup.
Ability to efficiently load trucks and transport materials.
Capability to follow directions from foreman and layout crew accurately.
Attention to detail in conducting equipment inspections and reporting safety concerns.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
