TEKsystems is seeking motivated and reliable Telecommunications Technicians to support a large-scale, fast-paced infrastructure project in Fort Wayne. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for individuals looking to build or grow a career in telecommunications, low-voltage, and network infrastructure.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (50 hours/week required)
Work Type: On-site / Field-based
What You'll Be Doing
As a Telecommunications Technician, you will play a key role in building and maintaining critical infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
Installing and routing low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic as applicable)
Performing rack and stack of network equipment (routers, switches, patch panels)
Supporting telecommunications system installations and upgrades
Troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues
Testing and verifying cable installations to industry standards
Assisting with device configuration and system setup (VoIP, PBX, etc.)
Maintaining clean and organized job sites and documentation
Following all safety protocols and best practices

Strong interest in telecommunications, low-voltage, or IT infrastructure
Basic knowledge of cabling, networking equipment, or electronics
Ability to use hand tools and work in a physical, hands-on environment
Reliable transportation and strong punctuality
Solid work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in telecom, construction, or low-voltage installation
Familiarity with:
Cable installation and termination
Network hardware (routers, switches)
VoIP or PBX systems
Technical certifications (nice to have, not required)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
