Overview
We are actively seeking entry-level Travel Cable Technicians based in El Paso, TX who are eager to start a career in the fast-growing data center industry.
This is a hands-on, paid training opportunity, ideal for individuals early in their careers who are motivated to learn a skilled trade. We are specifically looking for candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to be trained-no extensive telecom experience required.
Technicians will travel nationwide to active project sites (starting in Altoona, IA) to gain real-world experience. The long-term goal is to bring this team back to El Paso to support an upcoming data center project; however, the exact timeline for that project is still being finalized.
This is a great opportunity to break into the data center industry and build a long-term career in tech infrastructure.
What You'll Learn & Do
Install and support structured cabling and low-voltage systems
Pull copper and fiber optic cable in commercial/data center environments
Learn cable termination and punch-down techniques
Assist with building telecom closets (racks, patch panels, hardware)
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics (training provided)
Perform cable organization, routing, labeling, and dressing
Work alongside experienced technicians to develop industry skills
Required Qualifications
Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
Any exposure to construction, telecom, or hand tools is helpful
Comfortable working with basic hand tools
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
Ability to travel for extended periods
Team-oriented with a positive attitude
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Low voltage or cabling experience
Construction Experience
Experience working in physically demanding environments
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements
Indoor/outdoor construction environment
Ability to work at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces
Lift up to 50 lbs (move up to 75 lbs)
Ability to distinguish colors and read small print
Travel & Assignment Details
Initial project: Altoona, IA (~6 months)
Future project: Transition to additional long-term sites
Travel includes:
Paid housing
Daily per diem
Long-term plan: Return to El Paso, TX for future data center project (timeline TBD)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
