Overview
We are seeking a motivated Utility / Fiber Locator to support telecommunications and infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in fiber optics, underground utilities, and DOT infrastructure systems with a growing, global organization.
This role is ideal for candidates with a strong work ethic, interest in fieldwork, and willingness to learn. Hands-on training will be provided for utility locating, fiber optics, and network systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform underground utility locating using electromagnetic and GPR equipment
Identify and mark fiber optic and underground utilities in compliance with industry standards
Read and interpret utility maps, prints, and GIS data
Support fiber optic installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Conduct site surveys and accurately document findings
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field crews
Ensure compliance with 811/Dig Safe and safety regulations
Assist with fiber optic testing and network verification (training provided)
Maintain and calibrate locating equipment
Travel locally to various job sites as required
Qualifications
Experience in construction, utility work, or outdoor fieldwork
Exposure to OSP (Outside Plant) environments preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures
Ability to read maps/prints (GIS knowledge is a plus)
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Valid driver's license (driving company vehicle to job sites)
Work Environment
Primarily outdoor, field-based role
Exposure to weather conditions including heat, rain, and humidity
Daily routine includes reporting to the office, then traveling to job sites in a company vehicle

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deerfield Beach, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
