Job Title: Maintenance Lead
Job Description
The Maintenance Lead oversees mechanical and electrical maintenance activities in a new steel manufacturing facility, with a strong focus on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, structural steel welding, and equipment installation. This role sets up and supports the build-out of the plant, installs new machinery, and ensures reliable operation through troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on a 3rd shift schedule.
Responsibilities
Lead and perform hydraulic maintenance on production and support equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, and related components.
Perform stick welding on structural steel and pipe, including both fabrication and field welding work.
Carry out welding tasks on steel structures to support the construction and installation of plant infrastructure.
Execute pipefitting duties, including measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing piping for hydraulic, pneumatic, and other systems.
Install new machinery and equipment for the new steel manufacturing facility, following blueprints and technical documentation.
Support the setup and build of the new manufacturing facility, including participation in construction-phase activities and equipment commissioning.
Use basic electrical knowledge to perform fuse checks, voltage checks, and assist in diagnosing electrical issues under appropriate guidance.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and complete maintenance and installation tasks.
Perform mechanical troubleshooting to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective corrective actions.
Conduct preventive maintenance activities on machinery and systems according to established schedules and procedures.
Work safely at heights up to approximately 40 feet when required, using proper fall protection and safety practices.
Collaborate with other trades and team members in an active construction environment to coordinate work and minimize downtime.
Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment status and issues to relevant stakeholders.
Essential Skills
Proven experience performing stick welding on structural steel and pipe.
Demonstrated ability to handle both fabrication and field welding work.
Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems maintenance and repair.
Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems maintenance and repair.
Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial machinery.
Basic electrical knowledge, including working with fuses and performing voltage checks.
Comfort working in an active construction environment with ongoing build-out activities.
Ability and willingness to work at heights up to approximately 40 feet using appropriate safety equipment.
Previous experience in an extrusion environment.
Availability to work 3rd shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience installing new machinery in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Knowledge in steel manufacturing or heavy industrial facilities.

Work Environment
This role is based in a new steel manufacturing facility that is currently being built and commissioned, with work taking place in an active construction environment. The position operates on a 3rd shift schedule. You will work around heavy industrial equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and structural steel installations. The job involves installing new machinery, performing maintenance in and around production areas, and occasionally working at heights up to approximately 40 feet with appropriate safety and fall protection equipment. The environment is hands-on and mechanically intensive, requiring the use of tools, welding equipment, and standard industrial safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $76960.00 - $76960.00/yr.
Medical insurance coveraBe will become effective on the first day of the month following thirty {30) days of continuous employment, subject to plan eligibility and enrollment requirements. Paid Holidays - Employees are eligible to receive eight (8) paid company holidays annually, in accordance with the Company holiday schedule and applicable policies. Sick leave - Employees will receive five {5) sick days per calendar year, administered in accordance with Company policy and applicable state and federal law. Vacation I Paid Time Off {PTO} o Employees are eligible for two (2) weeks of paid vacation/PTo annually during their first and second years of continuous employment. o Employees will become eligible for three (3) weeks of paid vacation/PTO annually beginning after completion of three (3) years of continuous employment. PTO Accrual and Usage - Vacation/PTo accrual will begin immediately upon hire; however, accrued PTO and Sick Leave may not be used until the successful completion of ninety (90) days of emnloyment, unless otherwise approved by management.
