Job Title: Install Technician
Job Description
The Install Technician supports the installation of stone countertops in residential settings throughout the Red River Valley. This role involves assisting lead installers with site preparation, safe handling and placement of stone slabs, and ensuring high-quality workmanship that meets customer expectations. The position is physically active, requires regular use of hand and power tools, and offers the opportunity to learn and grow in the stone countertop installation trade.
Responsibilities
Assist with the installation of stone countertops by carrying slabs into place, accurately positioning them, and securing them to cabinets or supports.
Learn and apply proper techniques for safely handling, lifting, and maneuvering stone slabs to ensure efficient and damage-free installation.
Prepare job sites by ensuring all required tools, materials, and equipment are available and organized before installation begins.
Assist in measuring and confirming dimensions to ensure countertops fit correctly in their designated spaces.
Inspect countertops during installation to verify they meet quality standards and align with customer specifications.
Support lead installers by making adjustments or corrections to countertop placement and fit as directed.
Use hand and power tools, as well as basic fabrication and assembly techniques, to complete installation tasks.
Read and follow basic instructions, drawings, or layout information as provided by lead installers to complete installations accurately.
Communicate professionally with customers on-site, providing assistance and answering basic questions about the installation process.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your team, and customers.
Adhere to company policies and procedures related to installation practices, tool use, and customer interactions.
Work effectively under the direction of the Install Manager and lead installers, contributing positively to a team-oriented environment.
Perform general labor tasks related to construction and finish work as needed during the installation process.
Maintain a clean and organized work area at job sites and in company vehicles, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.

Physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, reach, and carry heavy materials throughout the workday.
Ability to frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds and occasionally over 100 pounds.
Sufficient vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Effective verbal communication skills, including the ability to talk and hear clearly in a busy work environment.
Basic troubleshooting skills to help identify and resolve installation issues under the guidance of lead installers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience or interest in installation, construction, carpentry, assembly, or general labor work.
Familiarity with reading basic blueprints, drawings, or layout information for installation projects.
Experience or exposure to fabrication or finish work in a construction or trades environment.
Comfort working with granite and other stone materials in residential homes.
Ability to maintain professionalism and a customer-focused attitude while working in occupied homes.
Openness to occasional overnight travel when required for installation projects.

Work Environment
This role is based in the Fargo-Moorhead area and involves traveling to various residential job sites. You will typically work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime required outside regular hours depending on installation locations. Occasional overnight travel may be necessary, with advance notice provided. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, and you will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures. You may be exposed to dust particles and must be able to wear a respirator or face mask when required. Noise levels can be high when working with installation tools, and you will regularly use hand tools, power tools, and other installation equipment. The position is physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting of heavy materials, extended periods of standing and movement, and adherence to safety procedures and protective equipment guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moorhead, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
