Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician Supervisor to lead hands-on maintenance operations in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who thrives on solving complex equipment issues, driving uptime, and developing high-performing maintenance teams.
You will oversee maintenance activities across multiple production areas, including advanced manufacturing processes and custom equipment systems. Success in this role requires both deep technical expertise and the ability to lead from the front-coaching teams, troubleshooting critical issues, and ensuring operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise, schedule, and develop maintenance technicians across multiple shifts and facilities
Provide hands-on coaching in troubleshooting, safety practices, and technical skill development
Manage performance, training, and continuous improvement of the maintenance team
Ensure adequate shift coverage, including support for off-hours and emergency response
Equipment Reliability & Performance
Perform and oversee troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems
Diagnose and resolve issues on complex, custom manufacturing equipment with urgency
Lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability, throughput, and product quality
Maintenance Operations
Manage maintenance planning and execution for routine, emergency, and shutdown work
Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities using CMMS systems
Maintain and optimize spare parts inventory and procurement processes
Enforce safety standards including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazardous materials protocols
Communicate maintenance metrics, updates, and priorities to leadership and stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with production, engineering, quality, and facilities teams to prioritize and execute maintenance work
Support equipment installations, upgrades, and capacity expansion initiatives
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed
Minimize production disruption through effective planning and communication
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
3+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience
Strong troubleshooting expertise across mechanical, electrical, and automated systems
Experience working with custom or proprietary manufacturing equipment
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs
Proven ability to perform under pressure in production-critical environments
Preferred:
Technical certification, associate degree, or journeyman trade certification
Experience with PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, motor controls, and HMIs
Background in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., cleanroom, filtration, injection molding, or similar)
Familiarity with preventative/predictive maintenance methodologies
Experience using CMMS platforms
Conventional machining capabilities
Forklift certification
