Low Voltage Cabling Technician (AV Support)
Location: Boston, MA (On‑Site at Greater Boston University Campuses)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Low Voltage Cabling Technician with experience supporting audiovisual installations to assist with campus‑wide technology upgrades at universities throughout the Greater Boston area. This is an on‑site, hands‑on role focused on cabling and physical installation work in classrooms and learning spaces. The ideal candidate has a strong cabling background and prior exposure to AV equipment installations but is not expected to perform programming or advanced system troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
Pull, route, label, and dress low‑voltage cabling for classroom and lecture hall installations
Support physical installation of AV equipment, including displays, projectors, and screens
Install cable pathways, supports, and raceways as required
Assist lead technicians with room buildouts and equipment placement
Follow installation plans, scope documents, and on‑site direction from supervisors
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in active campus environments
Properly handle tools, ladders, and lifts while adhering to safety standards
Communicate progress and issues clearly with project leads and team members
Required Qualifications
Experience in low‑voltage cabling, structured cabling, or related installation work
Previous exposure to AV or classroom technology installations (mounting, setup support)
Comfortable working on ladders and lifting/moving equipment as needed
Ability to follow work instructions, basic drawings, and job site standards
Strong reliability, work ethic, and punctuality
Professional demeanor appropriate for higher education environments
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work in universities, schools, hospitals, or large commercial buildings
Experience working on project‑based deployments or campus refresh initiatives
Basic familiarity with common AV equipment (displays, projectors, microphones)
Work Environment & Schedule
On‑site role at colleges and universities across the Greater Boston area
Full‑time hours for the duration of the project (May through September)
Travel between campus locations may be required

This is a Contract position based out of Boston, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
