What You'll Do
As a Low Voltage Technician, you'll be trusted with installation, service, and support of fire alarm and low voltage systems in active commercial environments:
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and configure fire alarm and low voltage systems
Respond to service calls professionally, diagnose system issues, and complete repairs efficiently
Troubleshoot and repair system wiring, field devices, and head-end components
Work from red-lined drawings, blueprints, manufacturer schematics, and manuals
Terminate CAT5/CAT6 cabling , including RJ-45 punch-downs, ensuring clean and labeled work
Install and mount:
Security cameras
Wireless access points
Access control systems
Speakers and other low voltage devices
Support network rack builds , ladder rack , and cable tray installations
Pull, route, secure, and trim cabling according to industry standards
Perform move, add, and change (MAC) work for low voltage and security systems
Document work performed accurately per service and quality requirements
Maintain exceptional workmanship with attention to organization, neatness, and detail
Adhere to all safety procedures and jobsite standards
✅ What You Bring
Essential Experience & Skills
5+ years of experience (or equivalent proven knowledge) in low voltage, AV, security, access control, or structured cabling
Strong understanding of low voltage wiring, electrical fundamentals, and troubleshooting
Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, redlines, and manufacturer documentation
Hands-on experience with access control, security systems, and commercial installations
Proficiency with CAT5/CAT6 termination , RJ-45 punch-downs, and cable management
Experience installing cameras, WAPs, and related commercial devices
Skilled with:
Multimeters, butt-sets, toner/wand tools
Cable testers and crimp tools
Standard hand and power tools
Comfortable working at heights up to 30+ feet using lifts and ladders
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs
OSHA 10 certification
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in hospitals, data centers, offices, warehouses, or retail environments
Network room and structured cabling experience
Knowledge of cable tray and ladder rack installation best practices
Self-directed, professional, and customer-aware mindset
Strong documentation and communication skills
⏱️ Schedule & Work Environment
Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Occasional Saturday work as needed
Technicians meet at the office and ride to job sites in company vehicles
Active construction and operational facilities
Extensive walking and time on your feet throughout the day
Frequent ladder and lift work at heights
PPE expected: steel-toe boots
Hydration is critical-technicians typically carry their own water/cooler
Daily use of hand tools, testers, and diagnostic equipment in network rooms and equipment spaces

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
