Job Title: Lubrication Technician
Job Description
The Lubrication Technician performs routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses on inspecting, lubricating, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and low-voltage electrical systems, as well as supporting equipment installations and maintaining accurate maintenance records within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Responsibilities
Perform routine lubrication of machinery and equipment using appropriate oils, greases, and other lubricants to ensure optimal performance and reduce wear.
Conduct regular inspections on mechanical components such as bearings, bushings, gearboxes, and chain-driven conveyors to identify signs of wear, misalignment, or potential failure.
Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment lifespan and minimize unexpected breakdowns.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and conveyor systems to identify root causes of equipment problems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot low-voltage electrical issues (around 24V) to support equipment reliability and uptime.
Perform repairs on mechanical systems, including gearboxes, bearings, and chain-driven conveyors, to restore equipment to safe and efficient operation.
Assist with the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment, lubrication, and safe operation.
Follow established safety procedures and precautions when working on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment performance in accordance with auditing standards.
Use and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log work orders, track preventive maintenance tasks, and improve maintenance processes.
Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to support troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installations.
Apply knowledge of chemical makeup and appropriate lubricants to select and use the correct products for specific equipment and operating conditions.
Perform basic welding tasks as needed to support maintenance and repair activities, where applicable.
Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement of equipment reliability.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
Proficiency in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing gearboxes, bearings, bushings, and chain-driven conveyors.
Ability to perform routine and preventive maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment.
Experience working with low-voltage electrical systems, including 24V controls.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
Familiarity with electrical safety precautions when working on equipment.
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document and track maintenance activities.
Knowledge of appropriate oils, greases, and lubricants and their proper application to industrial equipment.
Ability to diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Basic welding skills to support maintenance and repair tasks.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and documentation.
Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is beneficial.
Understanding of chemical makeup of lubricants and their compatibility with different equipment and operating conditions.
Ability to contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and CMMS workflows.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with production and maintenance teams.
Organizational skills to manage multiple preventive and corrective maintenance tasks efficiently.

Work Environment
This role operates in an automotive manufacturing environment with active production equipment and industrial machinery. The company provides the tools needed to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks. The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, including an annual fit test, and maintaining a clean-shaven face as part of proper use of safety equipment. The work involves hands-on interaction with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and low-voltage electrical systems, as well as regular use of a CMMS to manage maintenance activities.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $60320.00/yr.
