Traveling Low‑Voltage Technician
100% Nationwide Travel
Schedule: Overnight shifts (typically 4 nights per site)
Travel: 100% nationwide

Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Traveling Low‑Voltage / Cable Technicians to support a large‑scale retail IP security camera rollout . This role involves working as part of a 4‑person team to install, cable, test, and validate IP camera systems in big‑box retail environments across the U.S.
Technicians will perform end‑to‑end installation , including structured cabling, hardware mounting, camera support, field‑of‑view (FOV) validation, and documentation.
Required Qualifications (Must‑Haves)
Valid driver's license (required for company vehicle use)
2+ years of IP camera installation experience
Axis cameras strongly preferred
Experience configuring cameras and adjusting field of view (FOV)
Structured cabling experience
CAT5e / CAT6 installation, termination, labeling, and testing
Ability to read blueprints, installation scopes, and diagrams
Blueprint comprehension will be evaluated during the interview
Experience operating a scissor lift
Comfort working in IDFs , ladders, and lift environments
Willingness and ability to travel 100% nationwide for extended periods
Ability to work overnight shifts and remain productive
Key Responsibilities
Install Axis IP security cameras per approved scope
(Approximately 35-38 cameras per store)
Perform structured cabling from cameras to IDFs
Terminate, label, and organize cabling at camera locations and in IDFs
Test and certify cabling (Fluke preferred)
Mount camera hardware using:
Unistrut
Conduit
Surface and ceiling mounts
Verify network connectivity to designated IDFs
Support camera configuration verification and firmware checks (with Help Desk)
Validate camera Field‑of‑View (FOV) per shot guides
Make physical camera adjustments as directed by the client AP team
Return to sites as needed for corrections or follow‑up work
Capture and upload required deliverables:
Camera images
Test results
Validation documentation
Upload documentation into ServiceNow
Follow all site safety requirements, PPE standards, and client protocols
Collaborate effectively within a 4‑technician overnight team
Preferred Qualifications
Strong Axis camera installation experience
Fluke certification or advanced cable testing expertise
Conduit bending or light EMT experience
Experience with large retail rollouts (Walmart, Lowe's, etc.)
Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar documentation/ticketing systems
Technical Skills

Punch‑down and termination
Structured cabling installations
Low‑voltage systems
IDF work and cable management

This is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
