Market Leader â Fiber Construction Operations
We are seeking a proven
Market Leader to run all fiber construction operations in a major metro market. This is a hands-on leadership role for a true
driver â someone who delivers results, holds teams accountable, and ensures projects get done on time with no excuses.
This role owns day-to-day execution of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP/MXU) construction, with a heavy focus on underground fiber, HDD, and splicing operations. You will lead a multi-disciplinary field organization and be fully accountable for safety, production, and performance across the market.
This is an
in-office leadership role (not remote) with regular field presence.
What Youâll Do
-
Lead all OSP and ISP/MXU construction activity across the market
-
Drive on-time delivery of fiber build programs for major MSO clients
-
Own safety, quality, production, and team performance across all crews
-
Set clear KPIs and hold managers accountable to schedules and results
-
Lead and develop a management team across splicing, drilling, OSP, and MXU
-
Maintain strong field presence (minimum 3 site visits per week)
-
Partner with PMO and Finance to deliver projects within target margins
-
Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements
-
Build a culture of urgency, ownership, and accountability
Leadership Responsibilities
-
Hire, train, and develop managers and field leaders
-
Direct daily workflow across multiple construction functions
-
Conduct performance reviews and manage discipline when needed
-
Build a high-performance, results-driven team culture
What Weâre Looking For
-
5+ years of fiber construction operations leadership experience
-
Strong background in underground fiber construction (OSP/ISP/MXU)
-
Prior field experience earlier in career (splicing, drilling, construction, or similar)
-
Proven ability to lead multi-layer field organizations and managers
-
Highly accountable, deadline-driven leadership style
-
Able to communicate credibly at a technical and executive level
-
Comfortable making tough decisions and pushing teams to deliver
Education & Requirements
-
Bachelorâs degree or equivalent experience
-
Valid driverâs license and clean driving record
-
Strong operational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills
-
Proficient with MS Office or Google Workspace
-
Must pass background, drug, and motor vehicle screenings
Work Environment
-
Office-based leadership role with frequent field visits
-
Local market focus with minimal travel
-
Occasional extended hours based on project demands
This role is ideal for a senior construction leader who thrives on ownership, urgency, and building winning operations â not just managing from behind a desk.
