What You'll Do
- Supervise and support 2-3 underground fiber construction crews
- Oversee HDD, bore, trenching, conduit, fiber placement, and restoration activities
- Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications
- Conduct daily safety briefings and maintain a strong safety culture
- Verify utility locates, permits, and traffic control measures before construction begins
- Inspect HDD operations, bore paths, conduit installation, and completed construction work
- Track daily production metrics and provide accurate field reporting
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, subcontractors, and utility representatives
- Identify and resolve field issues to keep projects moving forward
- Maintain high standards for workmanship, documentation, and customer satisfaction
- 3+ years of experience supervising telecommunications construction crews
- Strong background in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and underground fiber construction
- Previous experience operating HDD equipment is highly preferred
- Ability to inspect and evaluate underground construction quality and production
- Experience managing multiple crews across active projects
- Knowledge of utility locating requirements, 811 regulations, excavation practices, and right-of-way construction
- Ability to read and interpret telecom construction prints, maps, and engineering drawings
- Working knowledge of trenchers, mini excavators, HDD drill systems, and related construction equipment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
- Fiber optic construction

- Directional boring and underground utility installation
- Crew leadership and performance management
- Utility, broadband, or telecommunications network deployment
- Primarily supporting projects in the Jefferson City, MO market
- Field-based position with daily jobsite presence required
- Occasional travel and weekend work may be required based on project needs
