The BOS4 Data Center Facilities Technician supports thesafe, reliable, and continuous operation of all critical infrastructure at theBOS4 site. This multi-discipline role combines electrical, mechanical, andbasic IT/remote-hands competencies to execute daily rounds, respond to alarms,support customer ecosystems, and uphold BOS4's operational standards.Technicians work within established procedures, passdown workflows, and sitedocumentation requirements to ensure consistent performance in a mission-criticalenvironment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems
Perform BOS4 electrical rounds including RPPload readings, breaker status checks, EPMS alarm review, and panel inspections.
Support operation and maintenance of UPSsystems, PDU/RPP panels, switchgear, ATS/STS equipment, and distributioncomponents.
Assist with IR scans, electrical PMs, vendoroversight, and safe execution of LOTO procedures.
Respond to electrical abnormalities and supporttroubleshooting during customer-impacting events.
Mechanical Plant Operations
Conduct BOS4 mechanical rounds covering CRAHs,chillers, cooling towers, SCHWPs, CDWPs, VFDs, humidification systems, andrelated plant equipment.
Monitor BMS for temperature, humidity, DP, flow,and equipment status; identify deviations and escalate per BOS4 protocol.
Execute BOS4 procedures for placing equipmentinto Hand/Auto and support controls/engineering during system patches, resets,and stabilization.
Assist with troubleshooting hot/cold aisleissues, valve behavior, pump alarms, and airflow irregularities.
IT / Remote-Hands Support
Perform rack/stack activities includinginstalling servers, switches, cabling, and power connections.
Verify link lights, power states, and basicconnectivity for customer equipment.
Maintain BOS4 cabling standards for fiber andcopper, ensuring proper routing, labeling, and documentation.
Support customer ecosystem builds, cage audits,power utilization checks, and ticket-driven remote-hands tasks.
Monitoring, Documentation & Communication
Monitor BMS/EPMS for alarms and trends; initiateresponse per BOS4 escalation workflow.
Document all activities in the BOS4 dailylogbook, passdown, and ticketing systems with clear, concise operational notes.
Provide real-time equipment status duringincidents and support recovery actions.
Maintain accurate records of rounds, maintenanceactivities, and vendor work.
Safety, Compliance & Site Standards
Follow BOS4 safety protocols including LOTO, PPErequirements, hazard reporting, and vendor escort/oversight.
Maintain compliance with site security, accesscontrol, and customer-specific requirements.
Support audits, inspections, and continuousimprovement initiatives across electrical, mechanical, and IT domains.
Qualifications
Experience with electrical or mechanical systemsin mission-critical or industrial environments; data center experiencepreferred.
Massachusetts Journeyman or Master ElectricianLicense preferred for candidates performing advanced electrical work orsupporting BOS4's critical electrical infrastructure.
Mechanical-focused candidates without anelectrical license are strongly encouraged to apply. BOS4 supportscross-training, professional development, and progression toward electricalcompetencies.
Candidates without a license may performmechanical, facilities, and basic electrical tasks under appropriatesupervision and within state regulatory guidelines.
Basic IT hardware and cabling knowledge; abilityto support customer ecosystems and remote-hands tasks.
Ability to interpret electrical single-lines,mechanical schematics, and BMS/EPMS data.
Strong troubleshooting skills and comfortworking in a high-availability environment.
Ability to lift equipment, work in confinedspaces, and perform physical tasks as required.

Collective Bargaining Agreement: The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union ICT Svc Delivery Tech position is $50.89 per hour. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
