JOB SUMMARY
Be part of cloud computing growth in the Midwest! The DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN-TRAINEE will support the growth of a global leader in Network Technology. The DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN-TRAINEE will learn to build, install and troubleshoot data center networks. Together, the DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN-TRAINEE is a good fit for aspiring IT, Network, and Low Voltage Technicians, as well as recent graduates and military professionals ready to work a physical IT position. The DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN-TRAINEE will work 6-7 days per week, and at times work 50-80 hours per week. Applicants should be ready to work long days and weeks, even during holiday time.
DUTIES
Operate hand tools to install utilities according to project specifications.
Perform pullbacks for conduit, pipe, or cable installation.
Understand bend radius and handle conduit.
Read and interpret utility locates, bore profiles, and construction drawings.
Safely identify and avoid existing utilities.
Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized job site.
Complete daily production and safety documentation.
Follow all company, OSHA, and sitespecific safety policies.
Perform job site setup and cleanup, including loading and unloading tools, materials, and equipment.
Install, maintain, and repair underground and aerial telecommunications infrastructure.
Perform fiber optic and copper cable placement, splicing support, testing, and troubleshooting.
Inspect outside plant facilities for damage, defects, or potential service interruptions.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to outages or emergency situations when required.
Prepare stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches).
Set up equipment properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
Perform post-execution quality checks and verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
Decommission hardware for simple changes and refresh (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
Work overnights in a data center setting, as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of cabling to include copper, fiber or conduit
Ability to read utility locates and job plans
Valid drivers license
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Required: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
Required: Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Required: Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays
SHIFT & SCHEDULE
1st Shift: 6am-6pm
3rd Shift: 6pm-6am
Frontside Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday
Backside Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday
Overtime during peak season

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
