Quality Conveyor Solutions (QCS) is a leading provider of conveyor belts and services, including vulcanized splicing, conveyor installation, and emergency field service. We’re looking for experienced Field Splice Technicians who take pride in their work and understand the importance of keeping operations running.
This is a regional travel role, typically averaging 8 nights away from home per month (about 2 per week on average), with all reasonable travel expenses (lodging, meals, fuel) fully covered. Schedules may vary based on customer and project needs.

What You’ll Do
- Perform vulcanized and mechanical conveyor belt splicing in field environments
- Set up and operate vulcanizing presses, splicing tools, and conveyor maintenance equipment
- Prepare belts using finger splicing, step splicing, and lap splicing techniques across a range of widths
- Execute conveyor belt installation, repair, and preventative maintenance
- Safely isolate and prepare conveyor systems for service
- Complete job documentation (time sheets, service reports, expenses)
- Provide on-site technical support and customer service
- Interact professionally with customers on-site
- Work independently or lead small crews when needed
- Typically work on 3 jobs per week at customer locations within the region
What the Job Is Really Like
- Work is performed in heavy industrial environments, which may include exposure to temperature extremes, humidity, dusty environments, moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, and fumes from adhesives, solvents, and paints
- You’ll handle physically demanding tasks (lifting, climbing, working at heights). You may be asked to safely lift 75-100 pounds frequently, using proper lifting techniques.
- Regional travel, averaging 8 nights away per month, with all expenses fully covered. Varies based on customer requirements.
- On-call work is occasional—technicians may work a weekend about once a month, depending on customer needs
- Overtime is common, can add 15–20% to annual pay, depending on customer demand; daily OT after 8 hours, time-and-a-half on Saturdays, and double-time on Sundays and holidays
- Requires strong attention to safety compliance, precision, and quality workmanship
- Safety is non-negotiable—PPE and procedures are strictly followed, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves, and other required protective equipment as required.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–3+ years of experience in conveyor belt splicing / vulcanizing
- Strong working knowledge of conveyor systems, belt tracking, and material handling equipment
- Experience with field service, maintenance, or industrial repair work
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally, with occasional overnight stays
- Experience driving trucks and trailers preferred
- Welding, fabrication, or mechanical maintenance experience is a plus
- Strong communication and professionalism with customers and team
- Valid driver’s license (required upon hire as a condition of continued employment)
- Reliable transportation to and from the main location
- Ability to pass background check and drug tests
