Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Electrical Superintendent, Night Shift Lead for a top industrial and manufacturing client. This individual will serve as the onsite electrical authority during night operations, leading electricians, subcontractors, and vendors across complex medium-voltage, substation, utility-interconnection, and production-equipment installation work. The superintendent will own field execution, safety, schedule, quality, material coordination, computer-based documentation, and turnover to day-shift leadership. The ideal candidate is a hands-on electrical construction leader with deep 5kV to 35kV experience, strong knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E requirements, and the ability to independently manage both field operations and detailed reporting in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Day-to-Day:

Lead all onsite electrical construction activities during the night shift

Plan and execute electrical work from installation through testing, commissioning, and turnover

Manage electricians, subcontractors, vendors, and trade-contractor activities

Develop and maintain detailed electrical execution plans, look-ahead schedules, and manpower plans

Oversee medium-voltage systems ranging from 5kV to 35kV

Supervise MV cable installation, terminations, switching, testing, energization, and commissioning

Coordinate substation construction, plant-distribution integration, and utility interconnections

Enforce OSHA, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, NEC, and site-specific safety requirements

Hold pre-task meetings and stop unsafe work when necessary

Schedule and lead quality-control inspections against drawings, specifications, and applicable electrical codes

Review one-lines, schematics, layouts, and field conditions for constructability concerns

Resolve field conflicts and escalate issues requiring day-shift engineering or project-management support

Coordinate electrical hookups with equipment suppliers and tool vendors

Receive and track critical equipment and material, including transformers, switchgear, and MV cable

Document damaged, missing, or incorrect material and resequence work when necessary

Maintain daily shift reports, material logs, RFIs, progress updates, photographs, and schedule information

Provide a complete written handoff to day-shift leadership covering completed work, open issues, safety concerns, material needs, and next-shift priorities

Support schedule, budget, quality, and production-readiness goals across a demanding 60-hour workweek

Skills and Requirements

OSHA 30 certification

10+ years of electrical construction experience

Electrical Superintendent, General Foreman, crew-lead, or equivalent field-leadership experience

Proven experience directly leading electricians, subcontractors, and trade contractors

Willingness and ability to work a sustained night-shift schedule, including weekends as project needs require

Hands-on medium-voltage experience with 5kV to 35kV systems, including installation, termination, testing, switching, and/or commissioning

Industrial, manufacturing, brownfield, substation, or heavy electrical-upgrade project experience

Direct substation-construction, plant-distribution, or utility-interconnection experience

Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and electrical jobsite safety requirements

Ability to read and troubleshoot one-lines, schematics, layouts, and electrical construction documents

Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

Ability to personally complete daily shift reports, material trackers, written turnovers, RFIs, email communication, and schedule updates

Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or an equivalent scheduling platform

Ability to use a laptop or tablet in the field and work from electronic drawings and PDFs

Ability to manage quality, safety, manpower, materials, and schedule performance without day-shift supervision

Ability to provide written night-to-day shift turnover covering status, safety concerns, material needs, open issues, and next priorities Prior experience serving as the primary electrical lead on night shift or during off-hours

Design-build construction experience

Brownfield or live-plant electrical construction experience

Experience coordinating with utility representatives and local authorities having jurisdiction

Experience with switchgear lineups, transformers, underground cabling, grounding systems, and plant medium-voltage distribution

Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, and NESC standards

Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid, or comparable construction-document platforms

Experience supporting vendor-tool or production-equipment electrical hookups

Experience providing constructability feedback during design and field execution

Strong written shift-handoff and turnover documentation skills
