Cable Technician
Location: Rock Hill, SC
About the Role
We are seeking a Level 2 Cable Technician to support the construction and buildout of a large-scale data center in Rock Hill, SC. This role will focus on core and shell infrastructure installations, structured cabling, pathway construction, and supporting ongoing data center deployment activities.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in commercial construction, structured cabling, data centers, or low-voltage installations and be comfortable working in active construction environments.
Responsibilities
Pull, route, and dress fiber optic and copper cabling throughout the data center facility
Install cable tray, ladder rack, basket tray, J-hooks, and other pathway systems
Support core and shell construction activities related to cabling infrastructure
Install and build telecommunications spaces, racks, cabinets, and containment systems
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and construction drawings
Label, organize, and document installed cabling according to project requirements
Assist with cable testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance processes
Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all site safety standards
Coordinate with project leads and other trades to ensure project milestones are achieved
Support material staging, inventory management, and jobsite logistics
Requirements
2+ years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, or low-voltage construction
Experience pulling and dressing Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and/or fiber optic cabling
Experience working in commercial construction or data center environments
Ability to read and work from blueprints and installation drawings
Familiarity with cable pathways, racks, and containment systems
Able to identify cable color codes and follow installation standards
Experience using hand and power tools safely
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable transportation and strong attendance history
Preferred Qualifications
Previous data center experience
Experience installing cable tray and overhead pathway systems
Fiber termination or testing experience
OSHA 10 certification
Lift or scissor lift experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and kneeling throughout the workday
Able to work in active construction environments while wearing required PPE

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rock Hill, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
