Job Description
The Sprinkler Service Operations Manager will be responsible for rebuilding and growing a fire sprinkler service department that has experienced significant operational challenges following a recent acquisition. This leader will oversee day-to-day service operations, scheduling, technician development, customer service, pricing, dispatching, invoicing, and overall department performance. The goal is to restore revenue growth, improve accountability and standardization, strengthen technician morale, and create a scalable service operation that delivers an exceptional customer experience. This individual will play a key role in driving operational improvements, developing processes, hiring and mentoring talent, and partnering closely with the sales team to increase service opportunities and customer retention.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead all daily operations of the sprinkler service department. Currently 4 people.
- Manage scheduling and dispatching of sprinkler service technicians.
- Create work orders, manage job workflow, and oversee invoicing through the company's ERP system.
- Partner with sales estimators to provide accurate and timely pricing for service opportunities.
- Improve customer service processes and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Develop, implement, and enforce standardized operating procedures and accountability measures.
- Coach, mentor, and develop service technicians through training and technical education programs.
- Monitor department KPIs including revenue, utilization, billable hours, response times, and customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate staffing needs and participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding additional technicians.
- Build team morale and foster a positive, collaborative culture during a period of organizational change.
- Review service pricing, profitability, and operational efficiencies to ensure sustainable growth.
- Collaborate with installation, sales, and branch leadership to align service operations with overall branch objectives.
- Support field technicians with escalations, customer concerns, and operational challenges.
- Identify opportunities to grow recurring inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair business.
$90,000 to $130,000. - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements
- Fire protection, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, or life safety industry experience.
o Willing to consider candidates coming from hands on tools OR Project Management
- Experience managing service operations, field technicians, or service teams.
- Strong understanding of scheduling, dispatching, customer service, and technician utilization.
- Experience managing service-related financials, pricing, invoicing, and department performance.
- Proven ability to implement processes, drive accountability, and improve operational performance.
- Leadership experience developing and coaching employees.
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, operations, and field personnel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate in a turnaround environment and drive change.
