Job Description

The Fiber Splicers primary function will be to support the Outside Plant Construction of fiber optic networks. The Fiber Splicer will work closely with the Area Manager, field crews, subcontractors, and customers to

verify that project goals are met on-time and within budget. The ideal candidate for this position should be well-versed and

experienced in the field of fiber optic networks including fiber troubleshooting with OTDR and power meters, ring cuts, fusion

splicing, cable prep and splice case Installations on large count fibers up to 864 count. The applicant should have the ability to

read splice diagrams, respond to emergency restorations, and provide accurate test reports in a timely manner.

Skills and Requirements

 Perform splice & test functions on fiber networks as assigned

 Respond to emergency restorations - Aerial & underground environments

 Prepping fiber cables for splicing (2 count thru 864 count)

 Fusion splicing - single fusion & ribbon

 Fiber troubleshooting & testing - OTDR & Power Meter

 Complete other job functions as needed. including but not limited to pulling

cable, site surveys, digging, panel installation, ISP work, training  5+ years of fiber splicing experience

 Proficient in MS Office Applications, OneDrive, Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth mapping tools
