Job Description:
The Offshore Project Execution team is looking for an Offshore Construction Planner to perform responsibilities on the project being constructed. Although the position would report to me, the individual would sit with the project team and work and provide deliverables to this team. This is a fast-paced hire, with expectations that someone could be in the office ASAP. This position would go through at least Nov 2027.
This candidate would be responsible with working with the prime contractor, and any of its hired subcontractors to create and manage project schedules, timelines, and resource allocations. While working with the contractor and subcontractors, the candidate will map out each step (activity) and its associated relationships and constraints to ensure the project finishes on time and within established cost guidelines, but most importantly predicating and communicating potential delays before they happen.
Key duties will include collaborating with subcontractors in reviewing and building step-by-step master timelines using software, specifically Primavera P6 (or MS Project if needed), meeting regularly with the project team, contractor and subcontractors, and suppliers to keep everyone and every activity aligned, tracking daily or weekly site progress and report updates back to the program lead scheduler, project team and stakeholders, be on the lookout and identify potential bottlenecks, vessel standby, or delays, create backup plans to keep work moving, and creating alternate schedules for differing execution scenarios to evaluate potential project cost, risk, and ISD alternatives.
Key skills for this position include technical literacy to understand scheduling tools, scopes of work, project drawings, and project software; clear communication and interaction with on-site personnel, the project team, and stakeholders; organizational and time management skills while juggling multiple timelines, delivery dates, and shifting priorities; and the ability to break a large complex offshore project into logical vessel work-fronts.
The candidate should have demonstrated experience in offshore projects in a previous planning role that have contained components of pipelay, infield developments, diving, dredging/trenching, etc. The candidate should also have experience in working on in-flight projects where live feedback and corrective measures are critical to project success. The candidate should be based in Houston, Texas.
