Job Title: Field Service Manager ($42-45)
Job Description
The Field Service Manager oversees the installation, decommissioning, and maintenance of conveyor systems at client facilities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and in line with specifications and quality standards. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, including supervising field service teams, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors, managing project documentation, and serving as a primary point of contact for clients. The position requires extensive travel to client sites and a strong ability to manage multiple projects, resolve issues quickly, and support clients with training and ongoing service.
Responsibilities
Manage conveyor system installation, decommissioning, and maintenance projects at client sites from planning through completion.
Communicate project status, risks, and issues clearly and regularly to clients and internal teams.
Provide hands-on assistance to millwrights and electricians on-site to ensure proper decommissioning and installation of conveyor systems.
Ensure all work complies with project specifications, safety regulations, environmental health and safety requirements, and quality standards.
Supervise on-site project teams, including contractors and subcontractors, to ensure project and client compliance.
Resolve project-related issues as they arise and develop contingency plans to keep work on schedule and within scope.
Supervise and instruct field service technicians to ensure the scope of work is completed on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations.
Provide training and support to clients on conveyor system operations, maintenance procedures, and best practices.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, change orders, permit applications, and other required records.
Coordinate scheduling and field service activities to optimize resources and meet project deadlines.
Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems to support troubleshooting and repair efforts.
Utilize project management tools, ERP systems, CRM software, and AutoDesk applications to plan, track, and report on project activities.
Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, proposals, specifications, and procedure manuals to guide installation and service work.
Prepare routine reports and correspondence related to project progress, issues, and outcomes.
Perform other duties as assigned to support successful delivery of conveyance solutions and field service operations.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of experience in management, preferably within the conveyor or conveyance systems industry.
Experience working directly with conveyor systems and conveyance solutions in installation, decommissioning, maintenance, or repair.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, instruct, and motivate field service technicians and project teams.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills for working with internal teams and external customers.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, proposals, specifications, and procedure manuals.
Solid problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to develop contingency plans and resolve issues quickly.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently to client sites, up to approximately 90% of the time.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to navigate and work effectively within ERP and CRM software systems.
Proficient typing skills to support documentation, reporting, and communication requirements.
Ability to read and write English fluently and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Physical ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms regularly while performing job duties.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of routine field service and installation work.
Comfort working around moving mechanical parts and in active industrial environments.
Understanding of project management principles, scheduling, and coordination in a field service context.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Post-high school certification or degree in machining preferred.
Approximately 3 years of experience in precision metal working machinery is preferred.
Experience with automation systems, PLC troubleshooting, and electrical systems is highly beneficial.
Background in mechanical and electrical repair, pneumatics, and construction-related field service work.
Experience with conveyor installation, change order management, and field management.
Familiarity with AutoDesk tools for design or project-related tasks.
Experience using CRM and ERP platforms for project tracking and customer management.
Understanding of Spanish is a plus and can support communication in diverse work environments.
Experience with sortation technologies and advanced conveyor products is a plus.

Work Environment

The position involves frequent standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds while working around materials that have safety data sheets but are not life-threatening. You will use tools and technologies related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems, as well as Microsoft Office, ERP and CRM platforms, and AutoDesk applications. The work schedule typically includes substantial overtime, providing opportunities for high weekly earnings, and requires extensive travel-up to approximately 90% of the time-to client locations across the United States.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
