Job Description
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance operations within a manufacturing facility, ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and continuous improvement. This role oversees maintenance personnel, vendor relationships, preventive maintenance programs, capital projects, and facility support functions while driving performance in quality, productivity, and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead maintenance operations supporting manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and production processes.
Ensure equipment reliability and maximum operational uptime to support production goals and customer commitments.
Develop and execute maintenance strategies focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Coordinate maintenance projects, equipment upgrades, installations, and facility improvements.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on equipment launches, process improvements, and capital initiatives.
Monitor maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and overall performance.
Develop staffing plans and allocate maintenance resources to support operational requirements.
Oversee contractor relationships, service agreements, and maintenance-related vendor activities.
Establish technical training and development programs to enhance workforce capabilities.
Evaluate employee performance, identify skill gaps, and implement development plans for maintenance personnel.
Manage departmental budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
Support investigations related to production disruptions, equipment failures, and customer-related concerns.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Partner with quality, engineering, and operations teams to support quality system and certification requirements.
Prepare and communicate maintenance performance metrics and department updates to leadership.
Provide support during emergency equipment failures and critical operational issues.
Implement escalation procedures and corrective actions to address recurring equipment concerns.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, safety, and process efficiency.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related technical discipline; OR equivalent combination of education and maintenance leadership experience.
Experience leading maintenance operations within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and maintenance planning practices.
Experience managing maintenance personnel, contractors, and cross-functional projects.
Ability to analyze operational data and develop strategies that improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems, safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment, welding systems, stamping equipment, or similar industrial machinery.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence methodologies.
Experience managing maintenance budgets, capital projects, and vendor contracts.
Background working in high-volume manufacturing environments.
