Job Description
Supervise multiple fiber installation crews and ensure safe, efficient project execution
Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers to maintain schedules and budgets
Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling systems in commercial and industrial environments
Perform fusion and mechanical splicing on indoor and outside plant (OSP) fiber
Build telecommunications rooms including racks, patch panels, fiber enclosures, and cross-connects
Conduct OTDR, loss, and continuity testing; document results and troubleshoot deficiencies
Calculate and verify fiber loss budgets in accordance with industry standards
Perform site quality inspections and ensure adherence to project requirements
Lead safety meetings and maintain compliance with safety protocols
Complete project documentation including timesheets, work orders, material transfers, and change orders
Act as the primary field contact between installation crews and project leadership

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of fiber optic installation experience
Experience leading fiber crews or small field teams
Strong knowledge of single-mode (SMF) and multi-mode (MMF) fiber systems
Experience terminating fiber connectors (LC, SC, ST, FC, MPO/MTP, etc.)
Experience with mechanical and fusion splicing
Proficiency with OTDR testing, fiber troubleshooting, and loss analysis
Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
Experience troubleshooting fiber networks and identifying connectivity issues
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
High School Diploma or GED Corning, FOA, BICSI, or other industry fiber certifications
Data center installation experience
Outside Plant (OSP) fiber deployment experience
Confined space entry certification or experience
Experience with large-scale backbone and campus fiber installations
Knowledge of structured cabling systems including copper infrastructure
Experience with MPO/MTP deployments and high-density fiber environments
Understanding of TIA/EIA and fiber optic industry standards
Previous experience supporting mission-critical or enterprise network environments
