Lead Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing
Location: Lenexa, KS
Shift: 1st Shift, Full‑Time
Schedule: 7:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Maintenance Technician to support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of equipment and systems at our Lenexa plant. As a key member of the Maintenance team, you will serve as the lead technical resource for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability initiatives. This role provides technical leadership and mentorship to maintenance technicians while helping drive a culture of safety, quality, food safety, and operational excellence within our flexible packaging manufacturing environment.
When Your Actions Lead to Success
Lead troubleshooting efforts to quickly resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime
Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs that improve equipment reliability
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures and recurring issues
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to maintenance team members
Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
Partner with production, quality, and leadership teams to achieve uptime and performance goals
Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, SQF, food safety, and maintenance standards
What you have to offer
Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Experience with preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and root cause analysis
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation
Experience using CMMS software and maintaining accurate maintenance records
Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required
Technical training, certifications, or demonstrated maintenance leadership experience preferred
Additional Role Details
Exposure to inks and solvents, which may create strong odors in the plant
Performs cleaning and inspection duties to maintain food safety compliance
Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, dust, and industrial chemicals
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Overtime, call-ins, and schedule flexibility may be required to support operational needs
Must follow all safety, GMP, SQF, food safety, and environmental requirements
Responsible for maintaining accurate work orders, maintenance records, and equipment documentation
