Job Title: Millwright
Job Description
This role requires an experienced Construction Millwright with at least 3 years of industrial construction experience, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely and effectively in demanding environments. You will install, move, align, maintain, and repair a wide range of industrial equipment and machinery, while performing structural and mechanical welding to support fabrication, modification, and repair activities on site. You will rely on your ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to complete projects accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Install, move, align, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform structural and mechanical welding to fabricate, modify, and repair industrial equipment, machine bases, and structural steel on site.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and technical documentation to plan and execute work accurately.
Set up and operate rigging systems, pulleys, cranes, and forklifts to lift, move, and position heavy equipment and components.
Use laser alignment tools and other precision instruments to align shafts, motors, and rotating equipment to specified tolerances.
Perform industrial maintenance tasks including calibration, adjustment, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and components.
Use cutting tools and equipment such as torches and saws to cut, shape, and prepare materials for installation or repair.
Carry out MIG, stick, and flux core welding on structural steel, equipment frames, and other industrial components as required.
Inspect equipment and installations for proper operation, alignment, and safety, and complete necessary repairs or adjustments.
Follow all safety procedures and industry best practices while working in fast-paced, changing, and potentially harsh environments.
Collaborate with other trades and team members on construction and industrial projects to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and to quality standards.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Millwright or in a closely related industrial construction role.
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues in industrial equipment and machinery.
Hands-on experience with rigging and the safe use of rigging hardware and systems to move and position heavy loads.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, including CAD drawings.
Experience operating forklifts and cranes to handle and position equipment and materials.
Practical knowledge of pulleys, shafts, and alignment techniques used in industrial machinery installations.
Experience using laser alignment tools to align rotating equipment and shafts to precise tolerances.
Experience in industrial maintenance, including calibration and adjustment of mechanical components.
Ability to perform torch cutting and use saws for cutting and preparing materials.
Proficiency in MIG welding, stick welding, and flux core welding for structural and mechanical applications.
Experience working with industrial equipment in construction or plant environments.
Ability to work safely in demanding, fast-paced environments with changing conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 10 certification preferred.
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Experience working with electrical and related industrial systems is an asset.
Exposure to CAD drawings and familiarity with interpreting digital technical documentation.
Experience in large-scale industrial or mechanical construction projects is beneficial.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively with other trades and project teams.

Work Environment
You will work in a fast-paced environment where every day can be different, ranging from climate-controlled plant settings to large construction sites exposed to all weather conditions. Projects may involve working on massive construction sites and within industrial facilities that require strict adherence to safety practices. You will regularly use industrial tools and equipment such as forklifts, cranes, rigging systems, welding machines, cutting torches, saws, and laser alignment tools. The role may involve varying schedules depending on project needs, and you should be comfortable working in physically demanding conditions and adapting to changing job sites and tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $36.00/hr.
