Job Title: Low Voltage Technician
Job Description
This role offers a hands-on opportunity for low voltage technicians at varying experience levels to support large-scale data center deployments. You will focus primarily on CAT6 copper cabling installations using pre-terminated systems in a fast-paced data center environment, with minimal fiber work and no splicing. The position involves end-to-end data cabling tasks, from installation and routing to testing and troubleshooting, ensuring reliable connectivity for critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Install and route CAT6 copper cabling for large-scale data center deployments using pre-terminated systems.
Perform low voltage cabling installations, including CAT5 and CAT6 data cables, following established standards and best practices.
Install, mount, and secure racks, cabinets, and related infrastructure components in data center environments.
Terminate network cabling at patch panels, jacks, and network equipment, ensuring clean and organized terminations.
Install and connect network equipment, including patch panels and related hardware, to support data center operations.
Perform cable management activities such as dressing, bundling, routing, and securing cables to maintain a neat and professional installation.
Label cables, racks, and patch panels accurately to support efficient identification, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Read and interpret basic cable layouts, drawings, and documentation to execute installations according to project specifications.
Conduct testing and verification of installed cabling to confirm performance and connectivity, documenting results as required.
Troubleshoot network cabling issues, including connectivity problems and physical cable faults, and implement effective solutions.
Pull, route, and secure wire and cable through pathways, trays, and conduits while maintaining safe and organized work practices.
Collaborate with team members to complete data center infrastructure projects on schedule and in alignment with quality standards.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with CAT6 copper cabling installation and routing in commercial or data center environments.
Proficiency with low voltage cabling, including CAT5 and CAT6 network cabling installation and termination.
Experience working with pre-terminated cabling systems for efficient and consistent installations.
Ability to install and configure patch panels, including terminating and organizing cables at patch panels.
Competence in installing racks and cabinets, including mounting, leveling, and securing equipment.
Strong cable management skills, including dressing, bundling, and organizing cables in trays and racks.
Ability to label cables, racks, and patch panels clearly and accurately for future identification and maintenance.
Experience connecting network equipment and ensuring proper physical connectivity for data center infrastructure.
Skill in testing network cabling to verify performance, continuity, and connectivity.
Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving issues with low voltage and network cabling systems.
Ability to read and interpret basic cable layouts, drawings, and documentation.
Comfort working in a fast-paced data center environment with a focus on structured cabling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience with large-scale data center infrastructure deployments.
Familiarity with minimal fiber work environments, even if fiber splicing is not required.
Understanding of industry best practices for structured cabling and data center standards.
Strong attention to detail to ensure clean, organized, and compliant cabling installations.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to complete project tasks efficiently.
Good communication skills to coordinate work and report progress or issues to project leads.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
