Job Description
The Mechanical & Robotics Maintenance Technician II supports the operations maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment within a high-volume facility. This role combines hands-on mechanical, electrical, and robotics work with coordination across multiple stakeholders to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and optimal performance.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to support continuous operations.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in equipment and implement effective corrective actions.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot robotic systems to minimize downtime and improve system performance.
Support and coordinate complex maintenance activities with operations, safety, and other stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption to production.
Collaborate with external vendors to schedule and oversee maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
Apply a continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
Act in a team lead capacity by supporting, training, and mentoring less experienced technicians.
Assist with planning and executing maintenance projects, leveraging project management skills to meet timelines and quality standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status in accordance with facility standards.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems.
Essential Skills
Strong hands-on experience with mechanical systems in an industrial or automated environment.
Proficiency in working with electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
Experience with pneumatic systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
2+ years of experience working with PLC-based control systems.
2+ years of experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
Ability to coordinate maintenance activities with multiple stakeholders such as operations and safety teams.
Capability to act in a team lead capacity, supporting and mentoring less experienced technicians.
Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the mechanical or electrical field.
Experience working and coordinating with vendors for maintenance, repairs, and equipment projects.
Experience working with multiple stakeholders to plan and execute complex maintenance activities.
Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with a focus on enhancing equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
Experience acting in a team lead role, including training and mentoring technicians.
Project management experience, including planning, organizing, and executing maintenance-related projects.
Willingness to learn and grow within a reliability and maintenance engineering environment.

Work Environment
This position operates in a fast-paced, automated distribution facility that relies on complex material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, PLC-based controls, and robotic technologies. You work on-site, primarily in industrial areas around conveyors, packaging systems, and robotics cells, where adherence to safety procedures is essential. The environment involves regular interaction with operations and safety teams, as well as vendors, to coordinate maintenance work. Expect a hands-on role that may require standing, walking, and working around machinery for extended periods, with appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment in line with industrial maintenance standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
