Job Summary:The Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety protocols at a designated construction site. This role supports the site team by ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections, and fostering a culture of safety.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and work cooperatively with site personnel, management, customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors, suppliers, and other contractors.
Physical Demands:This position requires frequent mobility throughout an active construction site, including walking across uneven terrain, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and standing for extended periods. The candidate may be exposed to varying weather conditions, loud noise, and typical construction site hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. Occasional lifting and transporting of materials or safety equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds may be necessary. The position also requires the ability to perceive and process visual information, such as reading documents and interpreting safety signage, with or without corrective devices.
Work Environment:The work environment is primarily field based at a single active construction site. While some administrative duties may be performed in a site office, the majority of responsibilities occur in dynamic, operational areas. Environmental conditions vary depending on the phase of construction, weather, and site activity, with exposure to dust, debris, and moderate to high noise levels. The position demands adaptability and situational awareness to navigate changing site conditions and maintain safety oversite. Team collaboration is frequent, and success in this role depends on the ability to maintain focus and professionalism in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.
